Notes

During the War Between the States, he served in two different Confederate units. Originally he enlisted in 1st Company E, 3d Arkansas Cavalry Regiment. Then in January 1863, he was transferred to Company F, 1st (Stirman's) Arkansas Cavalry Battalion while his brother E.D. served in the Union Army.
