As we research our family lines, we occasionally encounter individuals who are well known in historical records. For those descended from early founding families—often described as the “first off the boat”—it is not unusual to discover connections that extend broadly across history. None of the individuals listed here are considered close relatives by any reasonable measure; however, tracing these historical links has been an enjoyable and informative part of the research process.
