Notes

Born 1756, he was a veteran of the American Revolution from Lincoln County, North Carolina. Married 1785, Lincoln County, where he remained until removing to Alabama, after 1800. One source credits him as having served at New Orleans, during the War of 1812, as a substitute for an un-named son. Daughter Polly married Madison County, Alabama, in 1819. After his death, his widow and daughter's family relocated to the Smith-De Kalb county area of Tennessee. His widow eventually applied for a pension based on his military service, which states that he contracted a medical condition which ultimately contributed to his death.
