[N3045] Dan's body was found lying beside his car on the Levisa Fork River road. A Student at Mayo Vocational School, Paintsville, said he had been found shot in the neck and shoulders with a shotgun. Investigation showed a dead peach tree had been thrown across the road and it was presumed Dan had stopped his car to remove the tree and had started around the car when he was shot from the side of the road. This occurred about 2.5 miles from his home.
