Thomas COBB #23714

BET 1790 AND 1800 - ____

Personal Information

  • BIRTH: BET 1790 AND 1800, Jessamine, Kentucky, USA

Notes

The travels of Thomas Cobb are difficult to decipher. He was listed as an "infant" in his father's estate papers. It is known he and brother Ralph were bound to James Overstreet to learn the Carpenter's trade until age twenty-one. This apprenticeship was apparently not completed, and they were then bound to John Walter to finish their training. Thomas was released by Walter in 1808. By census, Thomas could not have been over 18 years of age at that time. Where he wandered is not known, but he suddenly reappears in Jessamine County in 1830, married and with six children. He was still in Jessamine in1840.
