"Death of a Respected Resident.
The death took place last Tuesday, at his home, of Mr. G. Cecil Brown, who had been a resident of Penticton for the past three years. The burial took place at the English church cemetery, Tuesday afternoon, and was attended by a large number of the principal residents of the town.
Mr. Brown was born in the east, but accompanied his parents to Winnipeg, at an early age, and resided there for many years. He was at one time a journalist , and a represented Dunn's agency. He served in the customs at Jamaica, and there married his wife, who born in the island. The climate was too severe for him, and his health beginning to fail, he came to Penticton, settling here in the hope he would recover.
The deceased gentleman was well know and respected by all who had the pleasure of his acquaintance. In touching language, Rev. J. A. Cleland referred to his gentle manner in which he bore his long sickness and offered his sincere sympathy to the bereaved widow and children."
