Hezekiah Wiley born in Floyd County, Kentucky, son of Thomas and Jean (Sellards) Wiley and grandson of Hezekiah Sellards, married at George's Creek, Kentucky on April 13, 1815 Lucretia Christine Nelson born ca 1798 in North Carolina. This family settled on Twelvepole Creek in Wayne County, Virginia (now West Virginia). Hezekiah is deceased by the 1850 Wayne County, Virginia census, while Lucretia is listed, age 59, with a daughter or granddaughter Eliza, age 10, born in Virginia.

Hezekiah reportedly died on a trip to visit relatives in Kentucky and according to the story is buried in Lawrence County, Kentucky. However the reported year of death as 1832 would be incorrect based on the approximate births of his children.
