The union of Charles Blakey to Eva Cobb involved the intermarriage of two different Cobb families of Fannin County. She was the daughter of Doctor Harve "Hugh Doc" Cobb and wife Catherine Dean, who came from Arkansas. Charles was the son of Thomas Ewing Blakey and wife Mary Belle "Molly" Cobb, daughter of Jesse Mayfield Cobb and wife Verlumaly Cooper, who came to Fannin from McMinn County, Tennessee, between 1865-1870.
