Notes
On July 25, 1845, Thomas received a patent to 160 acres on Cove Creek, in Wayne County. September 28, 1849, he sold William Wiley, probably his brother, 129 acres on the left fork of Cove Creek. Per Wayne County Deed Book D, page 340, Thomas purchased from Hezekiah Wiley (probably his father) and Henry Adkins, on February 17, 1855, a plot on the west side of a creek called Hezekiah Creek. By the 1880 census this family was living in Lawrence County, Kentucky. Lawrence County's Deed Book X, page 180, records a November 26, 1878 deed from Thomas Wiley and his wife Evelyny to Farmer Wiley which covers a parcel on land on the right hand fork of Brushy a branch of Blaine Creek. Per deed book K, page 408 of Wayne County, Thomas and his wife Evalina deeded to John N. Wiley (son or brother?) 100 acres on the west side of Hezekiah Creek. In Wayne County, West Virginia deed book 68, page 500, we find a recorded deed disposing of several tracts dated September 23, 1907. Among the tracts is one located on Spring Branch, on the head Lick Creek, a tributary of the left hand fork of Twelvepole, being part of the land patented to Thomas Wile, July 6, 1852. Parties of the first part to this deed of 1907 were Moses Wiley and his wife, Amanda; Abiga Wiley and Nancy his wife; William Wiley and Rhonda his wife, all of the county of Lawrence, Kentucky; Lucretia White and George her husband of Greenup County, Kentucky; John N. Wiley and wife Caroline of Lincoln County, West Virginia and Angeline Browning of McDowell County, West Virginia, lawful heirs of the estate of Thomas Wiley, deceased, to Farmer Wiley, also an heir to the estate.
