Cornellius Sellards, son of John and Annie (Alford) Sellards and grandson of Hezekiah Sellards, was born ca 1800, in Floyd County, Kentucky, died May 31, 1895 in Wayne County, West Virginia. He married May 1, 1825 in Floyd County, Kentucky, Anna Sullivan, born, ca 1806, died November 5, 1886 in Wayne County, West Virginia. She was the daughter of Revolutionary War soldier, Peter and Catherine (Ayrehardt) Sullivan. Cornelius settled in Wayne County, Virginia which later became Wayne County, West Virginia.
