In 1752, 1,110 acres in Chesterfield County were divided between Ambrose and his brothers Thomas and Matthew, per his father's Will.
He apparently died unmarried and without issue. His Will was filed in Chesterfield County on 23 October 1783. In it he mentioned no spouse, but did name sisters Phebe Cobbs, Nancy Perkinson, Elizabeth Booth, and Hannah Marshall, and a brother Samuel Cobbs. This Will was proved in court on 5 December 1783.
