[N2495] Reuben outlived his father by only a few months, and was already deceased before his father's estate was finally settled.

In the final distribution of his father's estate, Reuben's estate received one slave, accounts receivable from both the Administrator of the estate and John Staples (husband of Reuben's sister, Judith Cobbs), and the one hundred acres of land he had lived on, which was identified as Lot #9 on the plat of the 1,268 acres owned by Edmund Cobbs in Bedford County.

Reuben's estate as inventoried and approoved by the court on 3 December 1799, included two slaves, household goods, livestock, farm equipment, and one chest of carpenter's tools. The appraisers were Benjamin Robinson, John Wright, and William Rucker. The administratrix was Mary Epps Cobbs.
