Nannie owned and operated Yocum's Lodge on the corner of Nicholasville Pike and Waller Avenue, Lexington, Kentucky. She purchased the residence next door at 1225 Nicholasville Pike, formerly operated as Novak's Tourist Home and built a connecting link between the two to enlarge the Lodge. Novak's Tourist Home had been owned by Opal Belle Brown and her husband.
