[N346] Archibald studied medicine at Miami Medical School and then practiced with his brother, John in Powellsville, Ohio for four years. he then located his practice in Hunnywell, Greenup County, Kentucky for approximately four years before deciding in 1882 to relocate with his brother Dr. Andrew Watson in the west. These two relocated in the coal mining town of Scranton, Kansas. In 1896 he and his brother relocated in Lawrence, Kansas where Archibald practiced until his death in 1913. Archibald entered the Civil War November 25, 1863 and was discharged December 30, 1864.
