[N2893] Henry Cobb was a founder member of the Faversham Farmers Club. On his death he left his wife 12500 pounds plus his propoerty which remained in his family until 1901 (Town Place, Throwley).

Crest - Out of a ducal coronet a demi-leopard rampant proper. Motto - “Virtus in arduis.(NOTE: The description of this coat of arms gives clear evidence that the Cobbs of Mockbeggar were in fact descendants of John Cobb of Kent (c1324.)

This coat of arms appears on a group of monuments of the Cobb family commemorating - Henry Cobb of Town Place in Throwley, who died 24 August 1808, aged 45 years. Elizabeth his wife, who died 16 December 1824, aged 57 years. They had issue seven sons and two daughters; (including) Charles Francis Cobb, youngest son of Henry and Elizabeth, born 14 December 1804, died 26 September 1855, (and) Captain Henry Cobb, born at Town Place 25 February 1788; died 14 September 1848. He commanded the Honourable East India Company's Ship “Kent”, which was burnt in the Bay of Biscay 1 March 1825."

[N2894] A tablet in the church reads, "This tablet is placed in affectionate gratitue by surviving family of seven sons and two daughters."
