[N2968] She was the daughter of Henry Raine Marriott and Elizabeth Oram. Henry Raines was born 15 October 1819, the 9th child in a family of twelve. He married Elizabeth Oram on 19 June 1844 at the Church of St Pancras in London. They had eight children. Henry Raine was a cotton mill owner. They lived at Rowan Lodge, Whalley Range, Manchester on the outskirts of the city then. He had a collie dog called Gyp who was a family pet. Henry Raine was very proud of his garden which gave a fine display of Rhododendrons at the far end of a long lawn that never had a weed in it. The walled fruit garden was regularly inspected and if he found any grubs or caterpillars, he would squash them between thumb and forefinger. His grandchildren called him and his wife Grannipa and Grannima. The family worshipped at St Anne's Church in Manchester. All three unmarried daughters fell in love with the handsome and dynamic Irish priest there called David Dorrity. But it was Mabel Rosa the youngest who married him. Barbara Raines (Cousin B) was their daughter. Henry Raine died 11 May 1892 in Blackpool and his body was brought back to Manchester for burial.

[N2969] A tablet in the church of St. Mary the Virgin in Frensham reads: "In loving memory of our mother Clara Elizabeth wife of Charles Davison Cobb who died at Farncombe Surrey 7th December 1909 in her 63rd year. THE PATH OF THE JUST IS AS THE SHINING LIGHT THAT SHINETH MORE AND MORE UNTO THE PERFECT DAY"
