Historical Notes

One of the interesting stories she would relate about her life was that as a child in Fannin County, she often sat on a log in an "open air" school, learning her ABC's while sitting next to a lad named Sam Rayburn. He eventually became Speaker of the US House of Representatives, and served in that capacity from 1940-1961.

MARRIAGE 22 JUL 1889, Fannin, Texas, USA
It is extremely easy to confuse the children produced by Clarence Norman and Annie McPherson. Simply stated, Clarence was married three times. He had six children by his first wife, one by his second wife, and thirteen by Annie McPherson his third wife... for a total of twenty children. Annie was married twice. She had one child by her first husband, and the thirteen she shared with Clarence Norman. Between the two of them, Clarence and Annie were married five times, and twenty-one total children were produced by these marriages.
