[N2883] From the Gentleman's Magazine; January-June 1853: "May 3. At New Romney, George Leigh Lye, esq. Bombay, N. Inf. second son of the late Adm. Lye, to Ellen-Jane, second dau. of Thomas Cobb, esq."

It is reported Ellen married a second time to a Dr. Roberts of New Romney. This does, however, seem unlikely. The 1881 census lists her children as stil living with her husband. While she was absent from the household, her husband did report that he was yet married.
