[N2817] Last Will & Testament of Stephen Hunt. Dated 16 August 1680. Proved in the Canterbury Registry 09 October 1680, by Nicholas Hunt the brother and Executor:
"To be buried in Chislett Church, or in the chancell of same church.
--- £10 to ten poor widows of Chislett --- To my wife Mary linen, plate & which was her's at the time I married her --- To my loving cozen Jarvice Rose son of Ambrose Rose --- To my nephew Benjamin Cobb --- To my two nieces Ann Cobb & Mary Cobb at Ages of 21 --- To my loving brother Thomas Hunt & to my cozen Benjamin Cobb between them my messuage etc called Shelmiugford in Chislett, Reculver, Hoath, Herne, & Westeere, which I hold by lease from Christopher Beddingfeild Esq. and my lands called Hillsborough Marsh in Chislett leased from the Archbishop of Canterbury --- To the parish of Chislett "one under treble bell to be delivered within one yeare next after my decease unto the churchwardens of the said parish for the time being within five miles of the parish of Chislett aforesaid provided the said arish of Chislett, or the Churchwardens thereof for the time being will be at the charge of hanging the same in the steeple of the parish Church of Chislett aforesaid" --- My Messuage & farm of 50 acres in Leisdowne to my wife Mary she to revoke her marriage settlement, with reversion to my loving brother Nicholas Hunt to him and his heirs --- (Testator had no issue living at date of his will) To my brother John Hunt --- To my brother Thomas Hunt --- To my brother John Hunt my Messuage & Lands in Willesborough and Sevington reversion to my brother Nicholas Hunt whom sole executor: Witnesses Elizabeth Bridges, Edward Hirst, Thomas Petman, Thomas Mummery."
