Robert "Bob" Roland Cobb was born to Harvey and Grace (Dovel) Cobb on August 6, 1926, in Arapaho, Oklahoma and passed away on Tuesday, September 14, 2004, in Oklahoma Veteran's Center in Clinton, Oklahoma having reached the age of 78 years, 1 month, and 8 days.
Bob was raised and attended school in Arapaho and Clinton. He served in the Navy from 1943 to 1946 during WWII in the European Theater. Bob returned to the Clinton area where he worked for the Telephone Company, NorBest, and was a sign painter. On September 2, 1977, he married Mildred Ingram in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, making their home in Clinton, later moving to Weatherford. Bob was active with the Boy Scouts, where he served as Scout Master and Mentor. He was a 60 year member of the American Legion, serving in Weatherford and Clinton. Bob enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing Bridge and Dominoes. Memorials may be made to the Boy Scouts of America.
Bob is survived by his wife, Mildred, of the home in Weatherford, Oklahoma, two sons, Barry Cobb and his wife, Dondi of Corn, Oklahoma and Michael Cobb and his wife Mary Jo of Oklahoma City, one daughter, Julie Henry of Littleton, Colorado; three step-children, Ladee Johnson of Woodward, Oklahoma, Jessie Mars of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; and Rebecca Smith of Clinton, Oklahoma; four sisters, Betty Cabaniss of Arapaho, Oklahoma, Billie Schultz of St. Joseph, Missouri, Linda McCush of Amazonia, Missouri, and Marilyn Coit of Clinton, Oklahoma; five grandchildren, six step-grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Barbara Coit. Memorial Card, Lockstone Funeral Home, Weatherford, OK. Friday, Sept 17, 2004, 10AM.
