Notes

In the name of God Amen.

I Jacob Shetley of Lincoln County and State of North Carolina being weak in body and in a low State of Health But of sound Mind and Memory and Cauling to Mind that it is apointed once for all Men to Die I do therefore Make Constitute Ordain and publish this to Be my Last will and Testament to convay and dispose of Both my Real and personal Estate wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me and first of all I commit my Soul to God who gave it After my death I request and desire that my Body be commited to the grave in a desent Maner as to my real Estate I give and dispose of it in the following Manner.

I give and Bequeth unto my Son Adam Shetley that track of land Containing one hundred and Fifty Acres lying above the old track that he now lives on.

..... on the same water course I give and Bequeath unto my son Andrew Shetley the Remainder of all the land that I now am possesed of when sd. Andrew Shetley Becomes of age.

My wife Mary Shetley is to have her living on the Land while She lives I give and Bequeth unto my Wife My Bay Horse and the Sorrel Mare Saddle and Bridle one plough and geers and a full set of plantation tools four cows and calves her pick of the cattle two beds and their furniture the half of the dresser two pots six sheep her pick and all the hogs the cuping tools one chest and a table and the stove and friing pan and heckkle and fifty Dollars in Money.

Next I give and bequeath unto my daughter Sophia Shetley five pounds in money.

Next I give and bequeth unto my son John Shetley the loom and tacklings.

Next I give and Bequeath unto my Son Peter Shetley five pounds in money.

Next I give and Bequeth unto my Daughter Barbara Shetley five pound in money and a clearance for the sixteen dollars I paid for him.

Next I give and bequeath unto my Daughter Betsy Shetley one cow and calf and a two year old hefer hur Bed and spining wheel saddle and a bridle and one frying pan and one bay horse two years old.

Next I give and bequeath unto my Son Adam Shetley the Smith tools and the last spring colt.

Next I give and bequeath unto my Daughter Molly Shetley fifty pound in mony.

Next I give and bequeath unto my Son Andrew Shetley the wagon and hindgeers.

Next I give and bequeath unto my yongest Daughter Mary Shetley fifty pounds in money.

And I desire that the remainder of the estate be sold and after all the heirs are paid up the remainder of the money is to be divided between the two youngest girls and I desire that the four youngest children should be well schoold.

This I declare to Be My Last Will and Testament

In Witnes whereof I have here unto set my hand and Seal this Second Day of July 1799
