FRANCES GENTRY
Frances Lillie Cobb Gentry, 81, of West Union died Nov. 15 at Country Christian Care in Fairplay.

A native of Oconee County, she was a retired employee of Schlumberger Industries and was a member of Fairview Church of God.

Surviving are daughters, Betty Lou Winkler of Williamston, Margaret Ann Smith, Edna Gentry Smith, and Brenda Gentry Hanvey, all of West Union; brother, S. P. Cobb of Seneca and Katherine Hunter of West Union; 10 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was the widow of William Bruce Gentry and the daughter of the late Luther and Sallie Smith Cobb.

Funeral services were held Nov. 18 at Davenport Funeral Home Chapel in Walhalla. Burial followed in Evergreen Memorial Gardens.

West Union, SC-Frances Lillie Cobb Gentry, 81, wife of the late William Bruce Gentry, of 175 Lillie Lane, West Union , SC , died Saturday, November 15, 2003 at Country Christian Care in Fairplay.

A native of Oconee County , Mrs. Gentry was the daughter of the late Luther and Sallie Smith Cobb. She was a retired employee of Schlumberger Industries and was a member of Fairview Church of God.

Mrs. Gentry is survived by:

Margaret Ann Smith West Union, SC
Edna Gentry Smith West Union, SC
Brenda Gentry Hanvey West Union, SC

Brother: S. P. Cobb Seneca, SC

Sisters: Gladys Chandler Seneca, SC
Katherine Hunter West Union, SC

Ten grandchildren, twenty-five great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren also survive.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Gentry was predeceased by brother, Edward Cobb; and sisters, Eula Smith, Sue Dell Smith and Nellie Stone.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM , Tuesday, November 18, 2003 from the Chapel of Davenport Funeral Home with burial in Evergreen Memorial Gardens .

The body is at the Davenport Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM , Monday, November 17, 2003 .
