Historical Notes

The will of William Thompson is recorded in Lawrence County Will Book 2, page 60. In his will William states he has given other properties to his sons M. B., Archibald and Samuel. he then leaves his farm on Little Blaine, divided equally in five parts to his five sons: Amos, Lewis B., reuben V., Montraville G., and to Felix G. Then he states he gave his daughter, Christina all his land on the other side of the hill next to the main creek from the center of the main ridge. This will was presented for probation December 19, 1881, but it had to lay over to the January term of court for final probation.
