Frederick Law COBB #45515
1865 - 24 JUN 1894
BIRTH 1865, Sheldwich, Kent, England
DEATH 24 JUN 1894, Sheldwich, Kent, England
Historical Notes
Carried on Newhouse Farm after the death of his father in 1890. He was churchwarden for Sheldwich from 1890 to the time of his death, which was caused by being thrown from his horse when returning from Canterbury on June 24th, 1894.
Until Michaelmas, 1894, Frank Bridge Cobb managed Newhouse Farm, when it was finally given up by the Cobb family after being occupied by them for 170 years. This may not have been the actual tenure of the Cobbs, but, including the Law family, the actual tenure was at least 210 years reckoning from the first baptism registered at Sheldwich. (Augustine Cobb of Elverton, the patriach of the family, married Mary, daughter of John Law of New House, Sheldwich.)
