[N1317] Traditionally, William Ambrose Cobb left St. Clair County in the late 1860's, after service in the Confederate Army during the War Between the States. His service record has not been positively identified, but the most likely candidate is one William A. Cobb that served in Company D, 19th Alabama Infantry Regiment.
