[N1011] During the War Between the States, he served in Company C, 1st Tennessee Cavalry Regiment (Confederate), and was in later years a pensioner for his services.

[N863] This event was recorded in Marriage Book C, pp 112, McMinn County, Tennessee. There were five children born to this couple. Of those, two died young, daughter Texanna lived and died in McMinn County. Sons John and David both eventually migrated to Texas and the Indian Territory.
