Historical Notes

It is possible that soon after the 1850 census was taken she married a Mr. PICKENS, and further that she died between 1854-1860. On the 1860 census of Choctaw County, Alabama, there were three Pickens children listed in the household of Antonette's father Jesse L. Braswell. They were Ann L. age 11 (a probable error on the part of the census taker), Sarah M. age 9, and Robert A. born 1854. It seems almost certain that these were grandchildren of Jesse Braswell. Antonnette is the only Braswell daughter that is not accounted for on the 1860 census, therefore she is the only possible candidate to have been the mother of these children.
