Historical Notes

Guy II de Châtillon, born about 1140 and died around 1170, was lord of Châtillon, Montjay, Troissy, Crécy and Pierrefonds in the middle of the 12th century. He was the son of Gaucher II of Châtillon and Adèle de Roucy, lady of Pierrefonds. He became lord of Châtillon in 1148 on the death of his father Gaucher II of Châtillon at the Battle of Laodicea during the Second Crusade. He later took part in the Champagne court of Henry I the Liberal. He died around 1170 and was replaced as lord of Châtillon by his eldest son Guy III3.
