Edward is a member of several organizations including; Kentucky Historical Society, Vice President and one the founders of the Big Sandy Valley Historical Society, and President of the Johnson County Historical Society. As a history teacher at Johnson Central High School, he has been sponsor for several years of the renowned Research Historians Club of Johnson Central High School who are doing much to gather and publish local history for the school libraries of this area.
