Christine Cobb Cooper, 86, of 48 Hutchins St., died on Saturday, June 28, 2003.
Born Feb. 23, 1917, in Westminster, S.C., she was the daughter of Effie Watkins Cobb and Robert Cobb. She was a homemaker and a member of Welcome Baptist Church.
Mrs. Cooper was the wife of John A. Cooper of 65 years, beloved mother of one daughter, Joan C. Wike and husband Charles R. "Bobby" Wike of Easley. Five grandchildren, Christi Arnold Capps and her husband Eddie, Scott H. Arnold, Casey R. Wike, Chuck Wike and his wife Robin,and Chad Wike and his wife Tracy. Six great-grandchildren, Ross and Ashton Capps, Tara, Tatum, Charlie and Greyson Wike. One brother, Harold R. Cobb and his wife Laura.
She was predeceased by an infant daughter, Yvonne Sheree Cooper and five sisters and two brothers.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 1, from 2 to 2:50 p.m. with services to follow at 3 p.m. at the Thomas McAfee Funeral Home Downtown Chapel. Interment will be at Woodlawn Memorial Park. Honorary Escort will be the Home Bound Workers of Welcome Baptist Church.
