Historical Notes

Grant left home at a young age. While truck driving in Oklahoma City, Grant met and married Margie Marie Simpson. From their marriage, Grant and Margie had 3 children.

Grant served as superintendent of the Cast Stone division of Harter Concrete Products for over 30 years. He was an avid treasure hunter and history buff.

Grant's main love was country music. He developed his talents playing guitars with friends in backyard 'jam sessions.' From those beginnings Grant and Margie breathed their dream to life of a family-oriented country show at the National Guard Amory. In 1977 they renovated the old Knob Hill Theater and the Oklahoma Opry was born. After successfully producing shows for 25 plus years, Grant sold the OK Opry and started a new venture, Grants Rodeo Opry. For his tireless dedication to Country music Grant has been bestowed numerous honors and recognitions.
