Sir John Fagg, of Wiston and Mystole, was created a Baronet 11 December 1660, for his loyalty to Charles I, and his efforts in furtherance of the Restoration.

Sir John married Mary, daughter of Robert Morley, of Glynd in Sussex, Esq.; by whom he had fifteen children; whereof only five lived to be married, viz. three sons and two daughters, 1. Sir Robert, his successor, of whom hereafter; 2. Charles, who married twice; first, Mary, daughter of Mr. Hyland, of Bodgam in Kent, by whom he had three sons and two daughters; John, who died unmarried, and Charles, of whom hereafter; Mary, Elizabeth, and Sarah, married to Mr. Wallis: his second wife was Mrs. Mary Hoyle, widow, by whom he had two sons and five daughters; James and Joseph; Margaret married to Mr. Locker; Ann married to Mr. Watson; Susanna, Rebecca, and Temperance, who died S.P. he died March 10, 1714. Charles Fagg, Esq.; his son and heir married in Feb. 1723, Elizabeth, daughter of William Turner of the White Fryers in Canterbury, Esq.; by whom he had three sons and five daughters, Anna-Maria, Charles, William, Elizabeth, Mary, Sarah, Jane, and Thomas, and died April 8, 1739, leaving only two sons and one daughter; Sir William, successor to Sir Robert, hereafter mentioned, Sarah, and Thomas. The third surviving son of Sir John was Thomas, who married Elizabeth, widow of John Meres, of Glynley, in the parish of Westham in Sussex, Esq.; by whom he had a daughter, who died unmarried, and a son, John Meres Fagg, of the same place, Esq.; one of the justices of the peace for the same county, who married a daughter of --- Woodyere, near Chichester, Gent. by whom he had issue two sons, John and Thomas, and a daughter, Elizabeth. Of the daughters of Sir John, one married Philip Gell, of Hopton in Derbyshire, Bart. and the other to John Spence, of Malling in Sussex, Esq.; Sir John died Jan. 18, 1700.
Sir Robert Fagg, Bart. the eldest son and successor to his father, married Elizabeth, daughter of --- Culpeper, of Lindfield in Sussex, Esq. He died Aug. 26, 1715, and left only one son,
Sir Robert Fagg, Bart. who, by Christian, daughter to Sir Cecil Bishopp, of Parham in Sussex, Bart. left one son, Sir Robert, and four daughters; one whereof married Gawen Harris Nash, of Petworth, in Sussex, Esq. Sir Robert died at Horley-heath, near Ryegate in Surrey, June 22, 1736, age near 70; and was succeeded in dignity and estate by his only son,
Sir Robert Fagg, Bart., who in 1734, was elected a representative for Steyning in Sussex. He married Mrs. Ward, daughter of Dr. Ward, a physician at York, and died Sept. 14, 1740, without issue, leaving the chief of his estate to one of his unmarried sisters; and was succeeded in the dignity, and part of the estate, by his cousin, Sir William, grandson of Charles, second son of Sir John, the first Baronet.
Which Sir William Fagg, the present Baronet, married a daughter of --- Le Grand, of Canterbury in Kent, Esq.; and has issue one son, Meres, and three daughters, all in their minority.
