Horace D. Embry
SAINT JO -- Horace Dewey Embry, 98, a farmer-rancher, died Monday at a Saint Jo nursing center.

Funeral: 2 p.m. today at First United Methodist Church in Saint Jo. Burial: Mountain Park Cemetery in Saint Jo. Rev. Mike Miller will officiate.

Horace Embry was born June 17, 1898, in Villa Rica, Ga., to James Monroe Embry and Emma White Embry.

He married Isora Donnell on Nov. 26, 1919, in Saint Jo.

He was happiest when on the farm plowing.

Survivors: Daughters, Imogene Garza of Mission and Dessie Berry of Dallas; son, J. P. Embry of Saint Jo; sister, Willie Buck of Lubbock and Verdie Boyd of Idalou; brother, Barney Embry of Idalou; and several nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
