Johann Jakob Astor (1724–1816) was the patriarch of the Astor family and the father of the famous American fur trader and real estate mogul, John Jacob Astor (1763–1848). He was a butcher from Walldorf, Germany, and had several sons, including the one who would become one of America's wealthiest men.

Johann Jakob Astor was born on July 7, 1724, in Walldorf, Germany, to Felix Astor and Eva Dorothea Kreh Kraeh.
Johann was married to Maria Magdalena vom Berg, the daughter of the innkeeper Johann Dietrich vom Berg from Ittlingen. They had many children, among them were Jane, George, Heinrich, Catharina, Melchior, and the notable John Jacob Astor, who was born in 1763.

Johann Jakob Astor died on April 18, 1816, in Walldorf, Germany.
