[N396] I Joseph R. Davis, of the County of Lawrence & State of Kentucky, do make this my last will and Testament hereby revoking any & all other former wills that I may have made. I give and devise to my female heirs all of my personal estate herein stated, equally divided, such as, my house furniture, beds, and bed clothing, my horse. I will to S. B. Davis, my son, my two cows, one heifer yearling, all the sheep and hogs. I reserve in the hands of S. B. Davis, my son, for my special benefit, till my death, then if any personal, estate or property same as is herein specified be at my death is to be equally divided among my female heirs. All the tobacco & leather, one old mule, one clock, my blacksmith shop, all my farm utensils is to be reserved in the hands of S. B. Davis, for my special benefit, till my death, then to S. B. Davis, my son, and further I bequest one hundred dollars coming from Daniel Borders, willed to Catherine Davis by Michael Borders, her father to my female heirs & further I will to S. B. Davis, my son, a certain tract of land with all its appurtenances there unto to wit: (Follows a description of the land at the mouth of Rocky Hollow showing adjoining property lines of S. B. Davis and G. P. McClure) & I further bequest a certain boundary of land I once contracted to Michael B. Davis for $150 to Columbus Davis & William Davis & M. B. Davis heirs provided they pay me $100 in my natural life, the land known as the Sugar Camp Branch where M. B. Davis heirs now live & if they don't pay me the land and all its appurtenances is to go to my heirs; further I bequeath to M. B. Davis heirs a certain boundary of land I once contracted to M. B. Davis, my son, for $150, half of its valuation which he never paid, (Follows a description of the land near the mouth of Bridge Branch on the East side of Georges Creek, with adjoining lines of James Burton, J. D. Boyd, and S. B. Davis) provided they pay me $100 & if not it is to go to my heirs. In so much all these parties if they fail to pay me their amount here specified as they have had the benefit of the land all their lives till now they get nothing more, only all as my heirs I will $ rather than this will be provoked. Also S. B. Davis is to have all the increase of the property that was to his house when I went there, the bees also is S. B. Davis. Also what moneys I have, if any, & all the debts coming to me, goes to S. B. Davis at my death. Further more I bequeath to M. P. M. Davis a certain boundary of land beginning on a white oak known as S. B. Davis corner, near the corner of J. F. Davis fence, thence running with S. B. Davis line up the top of the knob, thence down the creek with S. B. Davis line to the creek, thence down the creek with S. B. Davis line to where it crosses the creek, thence with S. B. Davis line to J. W. Preston line at the top of the ridges between Georges Creek & Louisa fork of Big Sandy, thence down the ridge with J. W. Preston line to the top of a knob back of William Davis field, thence turning towards Georges Creek running down to the point to William Davis fence then with the said fence to the creek thence down the Creek to the ;mouth of the first branch thence running up the branch with its meanders to near Wm Davis house at the corner of his yard fence thence running up the point with the fence till it strikes W. R. Thompson's line then turning down the hill & running W. R. Thompson line to Georges Creek thence up the creek with its meanders to J. F. Davis line to a divisional fence between J. R. Davis and J. F. Davis thence with said fence to the beginning.

Also I have 50 acres of land lying on Griffeys Creek heired from William Davis which was entered and surveyed by David Davis which I bequeath to my heirs. Now this all the and every specie of property I own now is to disposed of according to this will. I hereby constitute and appoint S. B. Davis and J. F. Davis executors of this my last will & Testament described by me at this time. It is further understood that I hold all real and personal property I own to dispose of at my own will as long as I live. In witness whereof I set my hand and seal this the 17th day April 1885.
